A man entered the bank around 4:30 p.m. and passed the teller inside a note demanding money, a news release from the Fairfax County Police Department states. The teller was unable to give the man cash and the suspect left the bank.
The suspect was described as black and in his 40s. He left the area in an older model, box-style Jeep Cherokee.
PFC Shelley Broderick confirmed that detectives think the suspect in Thursday's robbery is the same person who is responsible for a string of robberies in Alexandria.
That suspect, who's been referred to as the "Beacon Hill Bandit," is being investigated by FCPD and the FBI Washington Field Office for allegedly robbing the TD Bank on Richmond Highway six times between March 2010 and July 2013.
