No Injuries in Mattress Fire at Annandale Nursing Home

The nursing home was able to put the fire out before fire and rescue units arrived on scene.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a call Tuesday morning for a mattress fire at the Sleepy Hollow Manor House & Rehabilitation Center in Annandale. The nursing home is located at 6700 Columbia Pike.

According to Dan Schmidt with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, the fire was out by the time units arrived on scene shortly after 9:25 a.m.

Schmidt described the fire as minor, but did not say how the fire started. There were no injuries and the nursing home was also not evacuated.
