Police updates from Mason, West Springfield Police Districts

The following items came from recent West Springfield District Police Department and Mason District Police Department updates.

Malicious Wounding by Mob/Burglary/Arrest

Two men, ages 19 and 22, and a 17-year-old boy were assaulted by at least two other men around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26 at a home in the 4400 block of Briarwood Court. Cristian O. Gutierrez Urbina, 18, of Skyles Way in Springfield, was arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding by mob and one count of burglary. The investigation continues. The victims were treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Petit Larceny/Grand Larceny/Destruction of Property/Possession of Marijuana/Credit Card Theft/Arrest:

Three officers patrolling in the 6200 block of Little River Turnpike around 8:44 p.m. on Friday, August 27 arrested three men and a 17-year-old boy for allegedly being in possession of stolen property. A neighboring police jurisdiction had broadcast a description of several suspects and their vehicle. Further investigation led to their arrest. The juvenile was charged with grand larceny, petit larceny, destruction of property, possession of marijuana and credit card theft.

Augusto N. Saldarriaga Bernedo, 18, of Wilson Bridge Drive in Oxon Hill, Md., was charged with petit larceny, credit card theft and two counts each of grand larceny and destruction of property. Mario A. Orellana, 19, of South Whiting Street in Alexandria, and Rony A. Sanchez, 22, of Lincoln Avenue in Alexandria, was charged with grand larceny, credit card theft, petit larceny and two counts of destruction of property.

4100 block of Accotink Parkway—landscaping equipment stolen from residence.

4600 block of John Tyler Court—laptop computer stolen from vehicle.

4100 block of Hummer Road—passport, laptop computer and credit cards stolen from vehicle.

4200 block of Tom Davis Drive—bag of makeup stolen from vehicle.

4200 block of Wadsworth Court—license plate stolen from vehicle.
