Police Blotter Oct. 24: Valuables Stolen from Residences, Motor Carrier Inspections

The following items came from recent police updates from the West Springfield, Franconia and Mason District Stations of the Fairfax County Police Department.
Motor Carrrier Inspection
Officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Unit conducted an inspection on Tuesday, October 18 in the area of Markham Street and Little River Turnpike. They inspected 18 trucks, observed 67 violations, pulled five trucks out of service and issued three tickets. Several trucks that could have been pulled out of service were given the opportunity to call a repair truck to fix the violation on the spot or have a tow truck safely take it away to be repaired elsewhere.

Offense Against Property, 4400 block of John Marr Dr., 10/9/11. A business owner reported that trash was strewn about on his business property.
Burglary, 7100 block of Lanier St, 10/10/11. An acquaintance forced his way into an individual’s home.
Larcenies
6900 block of Columbia Pike—diamond ring stolen from residence
7400 block of Little River Turnpike—DVDs stolen from business
7600 block of Herald Street—laptop computers stolen from school
No vehicle thefts reported in Annandale.
