Police Blotter: Robbery, Malicious Wounding, Larceny

Police updates from Mason, West Springfield, and Franconia Districts

The following items came from recent West Springfield District Police Department, Franconia Police Department, and Mason District Police Department updates.

Malicious Wounding/Arrest:

A 34-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 26-year-old man in the upper body on Friday, September 10 around 1:10 a.m. in the 6200 block of Arlington Boulevard. Viet Hoang, of 7833 Patriot Drive in Annandale, was charged with malicious wounding. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries. The suspect and victim were known to each other.

Robbery:

A 22-year-old man was robbed by a group of men in the area of Mayfield Drive and Weyburn Drive around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14. The suspects stole his wallet, cell phone and backpack. One suspect was described as black, in his late teens to early 20s, and had shoulder-length, dreadlocked hair. He wore a doo-rag, a black T-shirt with an abstract design on the front and black pants. The victim was transported to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

7900 block of Patriot Drive—golf cart stolen from business

4900 block of Sauquoit Lane—airbag stolen from vehicle
