Two drivers were charged with DWI during a Fairfax County Police Department drunk driver checkpoint on Little River Turnpike and Medford Drive in Annandale Saturday.

A total of 775 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, according to the latest daily crime report released Monday by FCPD. Police issued 11 summonses in addition to the two DWI charges.

The checkpoints are conducted in each of the districts in Fairfax County by police to curb the amount of drunk driving and alcohol-related crashes in the county.

Police made 701 DWI arrests in 2011 in Mason District, according to statistics provided by FCPD in December.

Most of the DWI arrests in December in Mason District were young adults age 21 to 29.
