Police: Three Men Assaulted Near Annandale Shopping Center

The following items are from the recent daily activity reports from the Mason, West Springfield and Franconia District Stations of the Fairfax County Police Department, which includes parts of Annandale.

The following items came from the weekly activity report from the Fairfax County Police Department released on Aug. 21.

Mason District Station

Burglary, 6700 block of Valley Brook Drive, 8/16/13, 7:45 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include jewelry. Forced entry was made through a door.

Assault, 7100 block of Columbia Pike, 8/17/13, 2:15 a.m. Three men were standing near their vehicle when two men approached. The two men assaulted the three victims and fled. The victims received minor injuries.

Pursuit/Narcotics, Barcroft Mews Court/Barcroft Mews Drive, 8/19/13, 2:05 a.m. Officers assisted Virginia State Police officers and Metropolitan Police officers pursuing a vehicle on I495 near Little River Turnpike. Following the vehicle and a short foot pursuit, the driver was apprehended. James Judy, 45, of Winchester, was charged by Fairfax County officers with possession of stolen property, cocaine, and marijuana, and resisting arrest.

Pursuit, Glen Forest Drive/Leesburg Pike, 8/20/13, 12:20 a.m. An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Crossroads Shopping Center. The vehicle allegedly sped away. Officers pursued and the vehicle crashed on Patrick Henry Drive near Leesburg Pike. No one was injured. The 17-year-old male driver was taken into custody and charged with DWI and driving while revoked. Additional charges are pending.

Brandishing, 3300 block of Glen Carlyn Drive, 8/21/13, 12:25 p.m. A 41-year-old man entered into a verbal discussion with another man. The suspect, described as black, approximately 60-year-old, pointed a handgun at the victim. The suspect fled and no one was injured.

Stolen Vehicles:

6300 block of Wingate Street, 1997 Honda Accord

West Springfield District Station

Burglary, 5300 block of Jennifer Drive, 8/17/13, 7:50 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include jewelry. Forced entry was made through a window.

Burglary, 8900 block of Ox Road, 8/18/13, 6:10 a.m. An officer saw the front door to a business smashed out. Following an investigation, there was evidence someone entered the business, but nothing was stolen.

7600 block of Mayfield Court, bicycle from residence

9100 block of Meadow Rue Lane, wallet from vehicle

7800 block of Oreana Drive, personal items from vehicle

7800 block of Rectory Lane, beer from business

Franconia District Station

Pursuit, 7300 block of Gresham Street, 7 a.m. An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near Heming Avenue and Elgar Street. The driver allegedly sped away. The vehicle crashed and the driver and passenger were detained. The driver, a 16-year-old Springfield boy, was charged with disregarding a stop sign and illegal possession of alcohol. Additional charges are pending. The passenger, a 15-year-old Springfield boy, was charged with illegal possession of alcohol.
