Police: Shooting Near Plaza at Landmark Shopping Center

Man was shot around 2 a.m. Friday. Suspect is still at large, although police believe it is an "isolated incident."

A 21-year-old Washington, D.C. man was shot near the Plaza at Landmark Shopping Center just outside of Annandale Friday morning, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The area, known to local residents as Alexandria, is in Fairfax County.

The man was walking through a parking garage in the 6100 block of Little River Turnpike Friday around 2 a.m. when he was approached from behind. The man was then shot in the upper body and the suspect fled on foot, according to a news release from the Fairfax County Police.

The man did not see the suspect, but reported hearing more than one person fleeing the scene, according to the news release.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

Police believe the shooting is an isolated incident; the investigation is ongoing.
