Bulova Leads in Chairman's Race Fundraising

Bulova outraises Republican rival by more than $100,000, spends twice as much

Incumbent Fairfax County Chairman Sharon Bulova is outraising and outspending her rivals in the county chairman's race, according to campaign finance reports filed by candidates' campaign committees. 

Between April 1 and June 30, Bulova raised $142,403. After expenses, her total campaign fund at the end of June was $210,031.35.

In comparison, Michael "Spike" Williams, the Republican nominee, raised $39,847.77 in the same period, leaving him with a campaign fund of $40,542.34.

A third candidate, Independent Will Radle, lists only a $5 loan in his campaign fund.

Bulova is also outspending Williams by more than double. During the reporting period, Bulova spent $38,883.57. Her largest campaign expense went to campaign consultant Michelle Gajewski, who received $11,400 over the two months.

Among other expenses, Bulova's campaign spent $1,000 on a donation to her son Delegate David Bulova's campaign to be re-elected in the 37th District.

Williams spent $19,012.05 during the reporting period. His largest expense was $2,622.40, for campaign consulting by Concentric Direct.
