Connolly to Host Telephone Town Hall Tuesday

U.S. representative from 11th District to hear constituent concerns in 8 p.m. phone conference.

U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly (D) will host a telephone town hall for residents of Virginia’s 11th Congressional district 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Residents who have dialed into one of Connolly's previous 14 town halls have enjoyed the format of being able to community with him "from the comfort of their homes without having to fight traffic," according to a release from George Burke, the congressman's communications director.

More than 170,000 district residents have participated in a call with Connolly since he took office in 2009. In 2010, one call garnered more than 30,000 people, the statement from Connolly's office said.

Constituents will receive a phone call invitation shortly before the conference's 8 p.m. start time.

"Connolly will give a brief rundown of the top issues in Congress and issues he is working on and will then open it up to constituent questions," Burke said in the statement. "Any constituents who do not get the opportunity to personally ask a question of Connolly have the option of leaving a voicemail question and will subsequently receive a response."
