'Draft McDonnell' Calls Va. Governor To Enter Presidential Race

"We Don't Have to Settle..." online petition site says.

A website launched by an unknown group wants Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) to enter the 2012 Presidential Race.

The 'Draft McDonnell' site's headline says:

"We Don't Have to Settle. A recent report by Rhodes Cook, Senior Columnist at the Center for Politics, shows that it's not too late for a Republican to enter the 2012 Presidential race. Bob McDonnell has a strong conservative record, and he can win the general election. Sign the petition to encourage him to run today!"

In addition to an opportunity to sign the petition urging McDonnell to throw his hat in the ring, the site has a rundown on McDonnell's resume—including his stance on issues and past acheivements. A Twitter page (@DraftMcDonnell) had 45 followers as of late Thursday night.

According to The Washington Post, a McDonnell spokesperson declined to comment on the petition, and an email to the website was not responded to in time for publication.
