Low-Cost Rabies Clinic Set for Saturday in Annandale

Rabies shots will cost $12 per pet.

Pet owners looking to vaccinate their cat or dog can swing by the Center this weekend.

Hosted by the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, there will be a low-cost rabies clinic will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Rabies shots will be $12 per pet. The clinic will also have 2012 dog licenses available for sale at $10 per dog.

The rabies vaccine will be good for one year, but residents can get three-year vaccines if they bring the pet’s rabies certificate showing the animal’s current rabies vaccination and vaccination expiration date.

The shelter asks that all dogs be on leashes and all cats be in carriers.

According to a news release from the police department, the Annandale clinic is a partnership with Mason District Supervisor Penelope Gross and the Mason District station of the Fairfax County Police Department. The clinic is sponsored by the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and Deepwood Veterinary Hospital.
