Michelle Obama to Visit Annandale High School on Thursday

The first lady of the United States will be joined by the first lady of the Republic of Korea, Kim Yoon-ok during her visit

First lady Michelle Obama is scheduled to visit (AHS) on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m.

According to a news release, Obama and the first lady of the Republic of Korea, Kim Yoon-ok, will visit the diverse Fairfax County Public School "as part of the Administration's activities to welcome the President and First Lady of the Republic of Korea, and Mrs. Obama's tradition of extending the reach of the State Visit beyond the gates of the White House."

There will be a musical performance featuring Jennifer Koh from the World Children's Choir and AHS students, followed by remarks from Obama. The World Children's Choir comprises children from different cultures who sing about a variety of topics including friendship and peace.

The first lady has been busy this week promoting healthy eating and exercise as part of her “Let’s Move” initiative. On Oct. 11, Obama helped attempt to break the Guinness World Records title for the most people doing jumping jacks in 24-hours [watch video of the event here].
