Confirmed: Obama to Sign Patent Bill at TJHSST

President Obama's ceremonial signing of the America Invents Act will be at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology Friday morning.

President Barack Obama will be at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology Friday morning.

The school will host the ceremonial signing of the America Invents Act, an anonymous White House official told The Washington Post Wednesday. The White House confirmed the event Thursday.

The America Invents Act is the biggest change to the U.S. patent system since the 1950s, including changing some patent applications and related rights from "first to invent" to "first to file" among other changes.

This would not be President Obama’s first trip to Annandale this year—he hosted a at Northern Virginia Community College’s Annandale in April and there in June.
