Paying Car and Real Estate Taxes? In Fairfax County, There's an App for That

New Fairfax County app will make it easier for county residents to pay their taxes.

By William Callahan.

Fairfax County has launched a new smartphone app allowing residents to pay their car and real estate taxes whenever they want.

All you’ll need is the app and the bill you’re paying. There will be a service fee if you’re paying via credit or debit card.

You can download the free Fairfax County app on the county’s mobile page or search Fairfax County Government on Google Play or the Apple App store.

The “Car Tax” and “Real Estate Tax” icons will be found after selecting the “Services” icon.

Remember, the county only sends real estate tax bills to residents who don’t pay their taxes through their mortgage company. Expect to receive property tax bills for your car later this summer.

In addition to paying taxes, you can also access the Fairfax County Department of Tax Administration (DTA) website for additional resources and information, or call DTA at 703-222-8234 (TTY 703-222-7594).
