Upcoming Fairfax County Political Debates

Candidates vying to represent Fairfax County residents appearing at debates and forums.

Debate season is in full swing! 

More than a dozen people are running for Fairfax County Board of Supervisors office, more than two dozen are running for positions on the Fairfax County School Board, and many candidates are running to represent Fairfax residents in Richmond in the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate.

The following is a list of upcoming political debates and forums for all offices relevant to residents living in Fairfax County. We are not including "candidate appearances" or other political events, such as fundraisers, in this list.

Tuesday, October 4

7:30 p.m. – Mason Neck Citizen’s Association meeting. Candidates appearing: State Senate candidates Toddy Puller and Jeff Frederick, House of Delegates candidates Dave Albo and Jack Dobbyn, Mt. Vernon District Supervisor candidates Gerry Hyland and Gail Parker, School Board Candidates Dan Storck and Michele Nellenbach. Fairfax County Board of Supervisors chair candidates Sharon Bulova and Spike Williams have been invited but have not confirmed their attendance.  

Wednesday, October 5

7:30 a.m. – West Springfield Rotary Club meeting with Virginia House of Delegates candidates Dave Albo and Jack Dobbyn. Springfield Golf & Country Club, 8301 Old Keene Mill Rd., Springfield.

7:15 p.m. – Candidates Forum for Fairfax County Public Schools Board candidates. Confirmed attendance: Dan Storck, Michele Nellenbach (both running for Mount Vernon District representative) and at-large candidates Sheree Brown-Kaplan, Lin-Dai Y. Kendall, Lolita Manheno-Smoak, Ryan McElveen, Theodore Velkoff. Hollin Meadows Elementary School, 2310 Nordok Place, Alexandria.

6:30 p.m. – Robinson Secondary School PTSA Candidate’s Forum, featuring all candidates running on the ballot in the Robinson Secondary precincts. Robinson Secondary School, 5035 Sideburn Road, Fairfax.

Thursday, October 27

7 p.m. – Dranesville School Board candidates -Jane Strauss and Louise Epstein. Herndon High School, 700 Bennett St., Herndon.

7:30 p.m. – John Cook, Janet Oleszek, Carey Campbell, candidates for Braddock District Supervisor, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Ravensworth Elementary School, 5411 Nutting Drive, Springfield.
