VIDEO: Stand-Ins for Kaine and Allen Make Their Case at Asian-American Candidate Forum

State delegates spoke to a crowd of about 75 residents Friday night as representatives for the U.S. Senate candidates, who could not attend the forum.

Political candidates running in Virginia’s congressional and Senate races were invited to participate in an Asian-American candidate forum on Friday night in Fairfax. The fact that not all of the candidates could make it didn't stop their stand-ins from coming to ask for votes from Northern Virginia's growing Asian-American community.

Hosted by more than 10 Virginia Asian-American organizations, the event focused specifically on issues affecting the Asian-American community.

In attendance were representatives from the 8th, 10th, and 11th congressional districts. U.S. Senate candidates former governors George Allen (R) and Tim Kaine (D) were invited, but could not attend the forum.

In the four-minute videos above, Del. Jim LeMunyon (R-67th) spoke on behalf of Allen and listed many reasons why Asian-Americans should vote for him.

Del. Mark Keam (D-35th) spoke on behalf of Kaine and appealed to the audience to vote for him this election.
