Bile Finishes 12th at Foot Locker Nationals

The AHS senior earned All-American honors for the second year in a row

Ahmed Bile, a senior at , competed against 39 runners and finished in 12th place at the 2011 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals (FLCCC) in San Diego on Saturday.

Bile's finishing time of 15:30 earned him All-American status for the second year in a row. Edward Cheserek of Newark, N.J., claimed the national title in 14:52. Last month, Bile advanced to the finals with his second place win at regionals in North Carolina.

For the cross country girls, junior Sophie Chase finished 11th with a time of 17:45.

The Foot Locker Cross Country Championships comprises four regional 5K races, which took place across the country in the Midwest (Kenosha, Wis.), Northeast (Kings Park, N.Y.), and South (Charlotte, N.C.) on Nov. 26, and the West (Walnut, Calif.) on Dec. 3, culminating in the national finals.
