Annual 'Tag Day' Fundraiser for Annandale-Area High Schools is Saturday

Marching band students from Annandale, Woodson and Falls Church High Schools will go door-to-door in their communities to ask for donations for their school's music department.

It's that time of year again: marching band students from Annandale High School, W.T. Woodson High School and Falls Church High School will be knocking on doors on Saturday, Sept. 7 to collect donations to support their school's music department.

The annual event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the schools.

Every year, the students knock on doors in neighborhoods zoned under their specific Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) pyramid and ask for donations. One-hundred percent of the donations go to help purchase uniforms, equipment and more for the students, as well as pay for scholarships and fees to teach the students. All donations for Tag Day are tax-deductible.

The students will leave a "tag" on the doors of residents who aren't home with instructions on how to donate.
