NOVA Police Offering Free VIN Etching at Annandale Campus

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Police will be offering Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etching on May 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Annandale Campus in parking lots B15 and B16. This free event open to the public is through a collaboration between NOVA Police, Virginia State Police and Help Eliminate Auto Theft (HEAT).

VIN etching involves the use of a stencil and an acidic etching paste to engrave a vehicle identification number onto the window of a motor vehicle. This is a safe and economical deterrent that helps police detect and identify stolen cars.

The registered owner(s) of a vehicle must be present for the etching. For more information, contact Tony Ong at Tong@nvcc.edu
