Tour the World at Annandale High School

The Just World Festival returns to AHS on Friday and will feature exhibits and more.

will host its 7th annual Just World Festival on Friday, Feb. 24 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the school.

Hosted by the Just World Interact Club, the event will feature several exhibits and workshops organized by students and participating organizations that will cover topics such as human rights, conflict resolution and more. The goal of the festival, according to a news release, is to “empower youth by raising awareness about global issues and diverse cultures, and by offering resources to help them become personally involved in creating a more just and peaceful world.”

  • Andy Shallal, founder and owner of Busboys and Poets restaurants.
  • Nancy Youssef, chief Pentagon correspondent for McClatchy News Services.
  • Samia Errazzouki, Moroccan-American writer and editor.
  • Manik Roy, vice president of C2ES: the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions.

Annandale High is no stranger to diversity. The school comprises students from over all over the globe. Similar to , there will be samplings of food from various countries and a Fair Trade Marketplace with products and other crafts for sale. The Rotary Club’s Shelter Box program will also be featured at the festival.

The Just World Festival is free to residents and high school students.
