Regional Program on Substance Abuse Scheduled at Annandale High School

The program is part of UPC's efforts to educate the community about the signs and symptoms of teenage drug abuse.

Parents, guardians, and their middle and high school-aged teens are invited to attend “Protecting Against the Realities of Substance Abuse,” a program organized by Parents Reaching Out To Educate Communities Together (P.R.O.T.E.C.T.), a task force of the Unified Prevention Coalition of Fairfax County (UPC), at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 21, at Annandale High School.

The program is part of UPC’s efforts to educate the community about the signs and symptoms of teenage drug abuse, and provide information on the actions parents can take and where to find supportive resources. A resource fair also will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Panelists will include parents with children in recovery; parents of children who died of an overdose; young adults in recovery; representatives from the Fairfax County Police Department, the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, and Falls Church Youth and Family Services, Falls Church-Fairfax Community Services Board.
