Three Nights of Broadway and Desserts

The Annandale High School choir will hold its annual Broadway Desserts concert this weekend.

If you’re looking to get out of the house this weekend and enjoy a little music and something sweet, the Choral program will hold its 14th annual Broadway Desserts concert beginning Sunday, Jan. 15 through Monday, Jan. 16.

The performances are held in Fairfax at ’s Center for the Arts. The theme of the concert is called “Broadway Desserts” because desserts are served while the students perform.

Songs from popular musicals such as Mamma Mia will be performed such as “Honey Honey” from Mamma Mia, “I’ve Never Been in Love Before” from Guys and Dolls, “The Doctor is In” from You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and more while wearing outfits themed after the songs.

According to Patricia Quezada, president of the AHS Choral Boosters Club, it takes a total of three weeks for the choir to prepare for the concert.  In addition to the direction of Choral Director Jessica Lardin, there is a whole team of parent volunteers who contribute to putting the event together.

”The commitment of our students and director as well as the parents of this program is immense,” said Quezada.
