Annandale-Lee Field Hockey Wins Game of the Week

Thursday showdown selected from Patriot District matchups to be featured on Patch.

Lee and Annandale High School fans bolstered their field hockey teams this week, helping the Thursday faceoff win Patch's  "Game of the Week" poll for the Patriot District.

The matchup earned 71 percent —  about 10 votes — in this week's poll, beating out a golf match between T.C. Wiliams and West Springfield and two field hockey games between South County and W.T. Woodson and West Potomac and Lake Braddock, respectively.

The game will be featured on Patch later this week.

Don't forget to tune in again Thursday, when we put the ball in your court again to determine the next Patch Game of the Week.

  • Each Thursday, Patch editors will pick a handful of matchups between Patriot District schools scheduled for the next Monday through Friday.
  • Students, parents, teachers and other community members will have five days to vote for which game should be named "Patch's Game of the Week."
  • On Monday, the game with the most votes will win special coverage.

Voting begins at 5 a.m. Thursday and ends at 11:59 am. Sept. 17. Only one vote per user — tell your friends and family to log on to pick their favorite, too!

Ginger was found! It took a humane trap to do it, but she is now safe & sound at home in FallsRead More Church. It was, in fact, thanks to this very notice that she was found!
