Bile Earns All-Met Honors from Washington Post

The Annandale High School senior will attend Georgetown University

The Washington Post has released its 2011 fall All-Met picks and named Ahmed Bile as athlete of the year for boys' cross country.

Bile's "smooth stride that was as explosive as it was effortless to run his way into Virginia history books" is just one of the reasons why the Post selected the student athlete for the honor.

The senior has had a successful year, competing in several cross country tournaments and often times winning while collecting accolades. In October, he won the and placed first at the and ended up being the sixth-fastest runner to complete the three-mile course. Last month, he went on to at the Virginia High School League State Cross Country Championships.

Just last weekend, Bile at the 2011 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals (FLCCC) in San Diego after with a second place finish.

He will attend Georgetown University next year.
