Fourth of July Celebrations Around Annandale

If you don’t have travel plans and want to stay close to home to celebrate Independence Day on July 4, there’s a handful of local events happening near Annandale.

The closest event to Annandale is in neighboring Falls Church for the fireworks show on July 4 at George Mason High School, located at 7124 Leesburg Pike. The free show starts at 7 p.m. and the fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m.

There will be no shortage of music this Fourth of July. The Kings Park Band will perform at Kings Park in Springfield at 12 p.m. on July 4. Sine Qua Non will perform at Mason District Park on July 5 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Spotlight by Starlight concert series. Residents can also enjoy Indonesian Cultural Heritage Night at Ossian Hall Park at 7:30 p.m. on July 6.

The City of Fairfax will host an Independence Day celebration on July 4 from 7-10:30 p.m. at Fairfax High School, located at 3501 Rebel Run. There will be live music from "Grooveline,” who will play hits from the 1950s to the present. The fireworks show will start at 9:20 p.m. This event is free.

Earlier in the day, there will be an Independence Day Parade from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. along Main Street in Fairfax. A total of nine high school marching bands will participate, including the Fairfax High School Marching Rebels.
