Wrap a Present and Make a Senior Smile

Annandale's Home Instead Senior Care is looking for volunteers to wrap Christmas presents for seniors next week.

Home Instead Senior Care's annual "Be a Santa to a Senior" holiday gift program is back and they're looking for volunteers to help wrap gifts in Annandale next week.

The elderly care company has been collecting gifts donated by residents for senior citizens all month long. The gift suggestions were hidden in ornaments that were on Christmas trees at nine locations, including ProMaxx Fitness and Juke Box Diner in Annandale.

On Dec. 17, Home Instead Senior Care will host a wrapping party from 5-8 p.m. at the Annandale Fire Station House, located at 7128 Columbia Pike. Food and refreshments will be served, as well as live entertainment. The public is invited to attend and volunteers are welcome to participate.

The "Be a Santa to a Senior" program has been around since 2006 and aims to "spread holiday cheer to lonely or financially-challenged seniors," according to their program's website.

Home Instead Senior Care serves residents in Annandale, Alexandria and nearby surrounding areas.
