Week Ahead: Annandale Fall Festival, Atoms Football, Oakwood School Anniversary

Five things to look forward to in Annandale this week.

Happy Monday, Annandale! Here's a look at some upcoming events and activities in the area this week.

  1. The annual Annandale Fall Festival and Parade is Saturday, Oct. 26. The parade starts at 10 a.m. The festival lasts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Details here.
  2. Annandale's Oakwood School will celebrate their 30th anniversary on Saturday. The school is hosting a fun-filled event at the Oakwood School playground. There will be food, games and more. Details here.
  3. This week's Shepherd's Center of Annandale-Springfield Lunch N' Life program will feature Rob Romasco, President of AARP. Romasco will talk to residents about a variety of current issues affecting Annandale, Springfield and Falls Church residents. The event costs $10.   4. The Annandale High School Atoms varsity football team will face the West Springfield High School Spartans Friday at 7:30 p.m. The game is an away game for Annandale and will be played at WSHS, which is located at  6100 Rolling Rd. in Springfield.
  5. There are only two more dates left for the Wakefield Farmers Market in Wakefield Park in Annandale, including this Wednesday. The farmers market closes for the season on Oct. 30. Wakefield Farmers Market is open from 2-6 p.m. and is located at 8100 Braddock Rd.
