Winter Band Concerts, Pictures with Santa, Festival of Lights

Looking to get out and have some fun this weekend after all of the snow earlier this week? Here's a look at some holiday events happening this weekend in Fairfax County.

Winter Band Concerts: Annandale High School and JEB Stuart High School will both host winter band Concerts on Thursday at 7 p.m. Annandale's concert will be in the AHS auditorium. Annandale High School is located at 4700 Medford Dr. and Stuart High School is located at 3301 Peace Valley Ln. in Falls Church.

Pet Photos with Santa Claus: The Columbia Pike Animal Hospital will host "pets with Santa" photo session on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free, but the hospital is accepting donations. All donations will go to support the Christian Veterinary Mission. Columbia Pike Animal Hospital is located at 4205 Evergreen Lane.

Herndon Holiday Model Train Show: Dec. 14, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 15, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Herndon Municipal Center, 777 Lynn St., Herndon. W&OD caboose and Herndon Depot Museum also open for tours.  Call 703-437-5556 for more information.

Santa at Fair Oaks Mall: Your child can grab a photo with Santa from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Be sure to check out the Ice Palace while you’re waiting! More info.

Bull Run Festival of Lights: Through Jan. 5, just off of Interstate 66 on Route 29 (Lee Highway) in Centreville. The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority says they expect to see more than 30,000 cars drive through the holiday light display before it ends Jan. 5. Find out more here.
