Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology focuses on science, math and technology education. Its curriculum also includes the humanities, physical education, computer technology, world languages and the fine arts. Admission to the school is based on testing scores, GPA and residency requirements. The athletic program features baseball, basketball, football, golf, cross country, indoor track, track and field, gymnastics, crew, dance, cheerleading, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swim, diving, wrestling and volleyball teams. There are many clubs and activities for students, including honor society clubs, games clubs, fine arts clubs, the math team, a forensics club, the school newspaper and a yearbook club.
