YSL has changed my life. With all the amazing and wonderful people I have met and all the confidence I have gained. One of the most amazing things about YSL, is the instructor's sense of humor. When you make a mistake they will sometimes turn it into a joke (after or before they tell you how to fix it) and have you try again next time. That way you don't feel bad about messing up. Over all the experience at YSL is the most amazing thing any student or parent could ask for. I have been in the YSL program since the age of 4 and every time I have stepped into the YSL studio I have always felt welcome. It's like my second home and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Our 5th grade granddaughter has gone to Yong Sung Lee studio since kindergarten. They've been wonderful! She has learned so much about self-discipline and how to treat others and to be polite. They've been a tremendous encouragement along the way and have helped shape her into the intelligent and charming young lady that she has become. AND there is not an ounce of fat on her body!

Yong Sung Lee (YSL) Hapmudo is by far the finest and most complete martial arts academy around. They offer a well-rounded program for kids to increase their physical activity while learning and practicing martial arts. After school programs and summer camps are also offered, which include field trips, swimming and arts & craft. The accomplished Master Lee is stern, yet patient and passionate with his students, promoting discipline and concentration while instilling positive values and morals. Ms. Raeder is wonderful with her warm personality and willingness to help. The studio radiates with positive energy, fostering encouragement to their students. In addition to the many programs they offer for children, classes for teenagers and adults are also available. We are extremely happy to be a part of the YSL family, and recommend their programs with no reservations.

Master Lee is outstanding! His and the approach of his instructors is nurturing, yet firm in a way that young students understand and respect. Never is there demeaning, or harsh criticism, just realistic refocusing, goal setting and positive reinforcement. I have observed Shori-Ryu and Gung Fu instructors teach in several studios on the west coast. None present the over all message of martial arts as well as Master Lee. There is a very mixed cultural student representation, which I think is very good for the kids.
My only criticism is that the students are required to buy sparring equipment from the studio, which places an additional cost to folks who already have gear.

Great studio, my kids love it! Master Lee is much more patient then I could ever be, also they are very organized and very concerned with kids safety!

Master Lee and Ms.Raeder have partnered with us in our parenting in both the educational development and the discipline and respect with the martial arts training. I agree with the previous reviews about YSL. It's great!
My two sons attent YSL after-school care and they beg me to let them go to YSL instead of staying home during holidays and school breaks. They teach kids discipline, respect, sympathy, and other great values; help with homework and challenge them academically; provide plenty of opportunities to work on their social skills; and let kids be kids by engaging them in various activities and games.... It's very obvious that YSL staff love what they do and really care about kids!

Come on Patch this isn't even a contest! Lee's Hapmudo can not be matched for their quality martial arts instruction, their commitment to their students and to Annandale. Life lessons are taught here by people who love their students and their community!

My daughter specifically requested attending Lee's Hapmudo Studio after an initial and very positive exposure to them at Congo Camp. We feel they offer a very positive and rewarding learning environment for children to develop their martial arts skills while also focusing on both social skills and educational value.
