Former Frame Factory Property Still Vacant Almost a Year Later

The building was demolished in 2012 after it was considered a blight nuisance vacancy.

The former site of the Frame Factory, located at 7130 Little River Tpke., beside the Antiques & Art Emporium, is still a vacant lot almost a year after the property was put up for sale. The physical building which once housed the former Annandale framing business was torn down in early 2012 after the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved a blight abatement plan for the property. The majority of the building was damaged in a fire in 2010 that caused a little over $1 million in damages. Following the blight abatement, the property was put up for sale by the Riesett family. TELL US, ANNANDALE: What kind of business would you like to see on this property? Do you think Little River Turnpike and the surrounding businesses are better off …

I went in just after moving to Annandale (about 5 years ago). A lot of the comics in the front of the store were sun-bleached and/or dusty. I just assumed the store was a front for something illegal.   more ›

CVS Finalizes Construction on New West Annandale Area Store

The store will be the third CVS store in the Annandale area.

By the looks of things, the new CVS located at 3921 Prosperity Ave., will open this month as planned. Much of the remaining construction, with the exception of some interior and landscaping is complete, according to a construction worker on site. Back in March, Mike DeAngelis, director of public relations for CVS, told Patch the store hoped to open in April after months of delays due to permit approvals and unexpected site cleanup construction. CVS began construction on the new store site in early 2012 and originally planned to open in September 2012. Tell Us: Are you excited for the new CVS? Read more about CVS on Patch:
