Annandale Crime Report: Tires Stolen from Vehicles

The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department in the most recent daily reports released May 20. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The following items are from the recent daily activity reports from the Mason, West Springfield and Franconia Police District Stations of the Fairfax County Police Department.  Larcenies 7200 block of Masonville Drive, tires from vehicle 3800 block of Stuart Court, tires from vehicle 3600 block of Terrace Drive, tires from vehicle 4300 block of Greenberry Lane, cash from vehicle 7400 block of Little River Turnpike, cell phone from business No major incidents were reported. No vehicle thefts were reported.

Franconia District Police Station Wins Chief's Challenge

The station finally won the award away from the Sully District which has won the award every year since 2006.

Captain Jim Baumstark and First Lieutenant William Jacoby announced during Wednesday's CAC meeting that the Franconia District Police Station, which covers part of Annandale, recently won the Chief's Challenge award. The title is awarded to one of the eight stations in Fairfax County every year for police initiatives regarding traffic issues in the district. Jacoby said the Franconia District is known for dealing with a lot of crime that keeps the police at the station very busy. However, officers also managed to make time to participate in traffic initiatives such as car seat checks, bike and pedestrian safety and DUI checkpoints. Daily Crime Report: Woman Breaks Into Home on Oliver Avenue

Burglary, 3900 block of Oliver Avenue (red on map), 4/13/13, 4:50 a.m. A resident reported he heard a noise in the kitchen. When he checked on it, he saw a female quickly exit the home. Nothing was taken. There were no signs of forced entry. The helicopter and a K-9 assisted in a search, but no one was found. Franconia Citizen Advisory Committee to Meet Wednesday

This month's topic will be presented by Parking Enforcement Officer Nevien Tadross.

The Franconia Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) will have its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Helen Wilson Community Room at the Lee District Government Center/Franconia District Police Station. The Franconia District Station of the Fairfax County Police Department covers part of Annandale. At each meeting, Franconia District police prepare a presentation which begins at 6:30 p.m. before the committee meeting officially starts. This month's presentation topic is Parking Enforcement which will be presented by Parking Enforcement Officer Nevien Tadross.
