Korean Gang Founder Sentenced to 17 Years for Extorting Annandale Businesses

Han Sa Yu pleaded guilty to extortion in November last year.

The founder of a Korean gang was sentenced Friday morning to 17 years and six months in prison for extorting Annandale businesses. Han Sa Yu, 44, founder of the Korean Night Breeders Gang, used "fear, violence and threats of violence to extort Korean businesses operating in Annandale," according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. Former Annandale Massage Parlor Owner Pleads Guilty to Prostitution, Money Laundering

Backlick Road business catered to local pastor, gynecologist and military men.

The former owner of an Annandale massage parlor pled guilty Thursday in federal court to charges of prostitution and money laundering, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia announced.  The former owner, Susan Lee Gross, also known as Ju Mee Lee Gross, 46, is originally from South Korea but now lives in Trinidad, Colo. She could face up to five years in prison for the prostitution charge and up to 20 years for money laundering. The business, Peach Therapy, is still open in Annandale and an employee answered the phone there on Thursday.
