On the article Supervisors, School Board Grapple with Budget Shortfalls

ReplyOf course there is a connection between the illegal alien sanctuary which FX County has become and the budget mess which they are in. If they enforced the immigration laws, then the schools would empty out of illegal aliens and the welfare offices would empty out and the spending would come back in line. As it is, the answer will always be to raise the taxes of those of us who actually work to support our own families so that we can support all of the illegals and their families as well.

ReplyIt is absolutely reprehensible for the County to even have this on the table. Our County is mess and the spending is out of control. Take a look at the FY2013 budget: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/dmb/fy2013/adopted/overview/10_budget_summary_new.pdf
They need to clean up their own house, cut services to illegals, slash the bloated school budget, and focus on the principle services they should be providing, such as repairing the crumbling stormwater system. They shouldn't be borrowing money for this type of project.
Libraries should not even be on the radar.... -
On the article Developer Seeks to Rezone Peace Valley Lane Property, Build Seven Homes
Kate

ReplyThis developer is proposing percolation trenches (i.e. ditches with some rocks) to deal with the overwhelming infill development he is going to put in here. All this will do is send the water downstream to the existing neighborhoods, (because this property is elevated), and into areas already prone to water issues. The Mason District Land Use Chair Roy Lounsbury noted that if the land is developed as proposed, 65 percent of the property will be impermeable. “That means you will have a major stormwater problem.” Another irresponsible infill development championed by Penny and the BOS in FX. What a disgrace...

ReplyThe fact is that the owners sold out to infill developers, who wanted far more than 29 houses on that small piece of land. It is only because of the fight brought on by the good people of Willow Run, that they were able to get it down to "only" 29 houses. This is all part and parcel to the infill mess that is destroying Annandale, all the while being championed by Penny's office. She is squarely behind these developers, who, while building UP, are destroying the character of Annandale, negatively impacting our crumbling stormwater system, and creating new traffic nighmares. I fail to see how most Annandale residents, who understand what happened here, will soon forgive or forget this sell out by the owners and by Penny, who once again, has failed to represent HER constituents.

ReplyFor those of you who want to complain about the condition of our third-world town, please visit this site and complain to them: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/code/
They are required to DO something about it, so stop talking and start calling.
If you want to call about all the loitering going on, call the non-emergency police line. If we don't start taking our town back, you can bet Penny and Co. will only allow this situation to get worse. You can also network with like-minded citizens of Mason Ditrict by visiting www.masondistrict.org -

ReplyAnd herein lies the problem with Fairfax County. This guy should have been deported years ago -- arrested 4 times in 2011??? FXCounty need to start deporting these illegal aliens instead of catering to them and allowing them to perpetrate crimes on our citizens.

ReplyI was there and am the Land Use Chair of Mason District COuncil. This article was a one-sided version of what went on at that meeting last night and not responsible journalism. Having said that, the end game here is that the County is looking for more flexibility to further it's dense infill agenda within the County, which is something which the community by and large is against. Further, their goal to educating the public is a joke considering how they constantly side with the developers who are promising hundreds of thousands of dollars to the County in cash proffers if their developments are appoved. As citizens we know what we need and we do not need our tax dollars used to form a "Land Use College" so that the COunty can educate us on their agenda. What would be better is if the County would advocate for existing neighborhoods instead of for it's own pocketbook. Please visit us at www.masondistrict.org for more information on our community advocacy.

I am glad to know that the illegal aliens are now free to operate their businesses here... what a relief.
