Athlete of the Week: Sachin Gangele

Scores 21 points in loss to Washington-Lee

Coming off a nice win over Wakefield, Falls Church looked poised to string together back-to-back wins for the first time this season against Washington-Lee Friday. Sachin Gangele led the Jags against the Generals, scoring 21 points in the two-point loss.

His efforts earned him Annandale Patch's Athlete of the Week.

Gangele scored seven of his team-high 21 in the fourth quarter. Falls Church appeared to tie the game at the buzzer, but the referees ruled that Tommy Truong hadn't released the ball before the horn sounded.

“Sachin is a guard that plays in the post for us, and he is playing great right now,” Falls Church Coach T.C. Papageorge said.

Gangele and the Jaguars return to action Tuesday against Mount Vernon.
