Buenos Grill Mexican Restaurant Now Open

After close to seven months of construction and delays, Buenos Grill, the fast-casual Mexican restaurant located at 7023 Columbia Pike, opened on Wednesday.

Buenos Grill originally planned to open on July 1, but backlog and other permit issues with Fairfax County delayed the restaurant’s grand opening for months. Hurricane-turned-tropical-storm Sandy even postponed the planned grand opening for Monday, Oct. 29.

Back in April at an Annandale Central Business District Planning Committee meeting, owner Charles Lee and manager Simon Yi said the restaurant would serve burritos, tacos, salads, nachos and more. The current menu does offer burritos, tacos or a salad with a choice of steak, chicken, barbacoa, or a vegetarian bowl for under $7 without tax. Customers can select rice or beans for their bowl or other ingredients like lettuce, cheese, salsa, corn, pico de galo, mango guacamole and more.

After 5 p.m., customers can also choose from a small selection of tapas such as duck confit or seared scallops ranging in price from $6-$10. There’s also a limited kid’s menu that offers tacos with chips or cheese quesadillas with chips.

Yi and Lee anticipated the restaurant would not serve alcohol when they opened, but during a by invitation only pre-grand opening event on Friday, the restaurant menu showed a selection of beers such as Dos Equis, Blue Moon and Coors to name a few. Non-alcoholic options include water, iced tea, fountain drinks, juice and coffee.

Buenos Grill is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
