Joseph's Coat Opens in Annandale

The store relocated from its Falls Church location.

Joseph’s Coat resale shop opened at its new location in Annandale on Saturday morning.

The store, formerly located in Falls Church, is now located at 7219 Columbia Pike, the former building of the Fairfax Auto Parts.

According to store manager Matt Walthall, who described Joseph's Coat as a department family store, 100 percent of the proceeds from the store goes to support Bethany House of Northern Virginia, Inc.

Bethany House has been in the Northern Virginia area for more than 30 years and Joseph’s Coat has been around since the early 90s. Bethany House provides resources for victims of domestic violence and abuse.

Mason District Supervisor Penny Gross, Bethany House Executive Director Catherine Hassinger, store manager Walthall and members of the Board of Directors for the Bethany House attended a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening.

"I am delighted that Joseph's Coat will remain in Mason District," said Gross.

Rows of clothing, shelves of shoes, various furniture such as couches, TV, stuffed animals and more are available for purchase at the store.

Joseph's Coat also has an outlet store located on the top floor. Customers can purchase outlet bags for $2.50, fill the bag with merchandise and pay $5.99 for the items (the total purchase with the cost of the bag and items will be around $8.49 plus tax)

Drop-off donation bins are located on the side of the left side of the store facing the Giant for those who wish to donate items outside of normal business hours.

The store accepts clothes and accessories, shoes, furniture, domestics such as linens and sheets, collectibles, books, housewares, small appliances such as radios, VCRs and computers that are in good or great condition for donations. They cannot accept large appliances, building material, mattresses, torn furniture, automobile parts, paints or chemicals, kerosene or gas or any weapons.

Joseph's Coat is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
