What's Going on With Walgreens and Fuddruckers?

We answer the burning question on Annandale residents' minds. Sort of.

Several Annandale residents have been wondering when Walgreens plans to begin construction on the former site of Fuddruckers.

So when's the official start date? I don't know.

As Patch previously reported, a representative for Walgreens told the Annandale Central Business District Planning Committee (ACBDPC) construction would begin in early September. However, that timeline appears to have changed. The property was left unattended to for months, causing some residents to comment on the state of the landscaping.

Walgreens has yet to get back to me about a construction start date (despite my very persistent attempts to gather information). The only additional information I have to offer is what some of you may have also seen while driving around: a trailer is now on the property and all of the property along Backlick Road and Columbia Pike is fenced off. That could mean that construction will begin soon, but I don't have a definitive date.

For now, like you, I await to see what happens in that space.
